Covid-19: An Update from One Broker’s Managing Director

May 2020 — Group Managing Director Sean Clark provides an update on One Broker’s approach to the coronavirus pandemic.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 10th May, we are continuing to adhere to the government’s guidelines and reviewing the impact these may have on our business.

As ever, our primary focus is on the wellbeing of our teams, clients and communities. Therefore, as we move into week 9 of the lockdown, our teams continue to work remotely, with client meetings taking place online or over the phone.

Looking ahead, over the coming weeks and months, we will consider the following:

  • Remote working: I'm pleased to report that our employees and our IT systems have proved to be robust in the face of a challenging situation. As such, our employees may continue to work from home and adopt flexible working practices.
  • Office setup: We are reviewing the layout of our offices to introduce social distancing measures before employees return. Desks and workstation space will be amended to allow for the required safe distancing. Hand sanitiser stations have also been installed, while gloves and anti-bacterial wipes will be available.
  • Phased return: To reduce the number of people in the office at any one time, we are looking at rotas, with time in the office split between teams.
  • Reduced business travel: To reduce the risk of infection, meetings will continue online wherever possible.

It goes without saying that the situation is ever-changing. As such, we will review our plans on an ongoing basis. During this time, we will share helpful information and advice on our website and social media channels, so be sure to follow us.
