In preparation for the opening of the new sports season, we spoke to avid racer, Kane Astin, about his passion for racing. The One Broker group, which NWBIB is a part of, is a proud sponsor of Kane’s super speedy Mini. A supporter of NWBIB’s WeLoveAgents scheme, where Letting Agents can earn commission by promoting the scheme’s Tenants and Landlords Insurance, Kane is also the Managing Director of Residential Properties at Saint Andrews Bureau (SAB).
I had a lot of mechanical problems last year so did not complete a full season but the highlight would have been to come back to the last round in 2017 and secure a win. The hopes for this season is always a simple question to answer… to win the championship!
I started around 12 years ago. I have always loved cars but my brother raced for a few years and I just wanted to have a go. It’s been a big learning curve as we all think we are fast drivers until you get on a track! It took a few years to get in the top but I secured my first championship in 2009 and then again in 2015.
Unreal. It’s hard to describe as people think a mini would be slow but when you sit about 10 inches from the tarmac on a set of slick tyres, they are unbelievable. Those who have had the pleasure of being a passenger in a racing Mini leave with nothing but a smile on their face.
I don’t really have a racing hero but I am inspired by most of the top racing drivers. I am lucky enough to have a good friend, Rob Huff, who is a pro driver and a WTCC Champion. My cousin, Oliver Jarvis, is also a pro driver and has won Le Mans.
It’s a true family company... our clients can expect professional advice with a personal touch.
It works so well as it gives the tenants that added bit of security to the home they live in at a very low cost. It’s also hassle free for us as an agent to work with you.
